King, Premier, Crown Prince congratulated on MMA team medals

Manama, June 23 (BNA): First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and the Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has extended sincere congratulations to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, and to the Personal Representative of HM the King, SCYS Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on Bahrain’s MMA team’s recent achievements. Bahrain’s MMA team won four medals at the Senior European Championships and the Youth European Open Championships, organised by the International Mixed Martial Arts Association (IMMAF) on June 17-23 in Bucharest, Romania. Murtadha Ali won the 93 kg gold medal, while Ali Yacoob and Zubeir Ghazi clinched the 61 kg and 70 kg silver medals. Yussef Sayyar, on the other hand, clinched the 77 kg bronze medal. HH Shaikh Khalid stressed that the national team’s honourable results are the fruitful outcome of HM the King’s unwavering support and care, which, he said, contributed to the kingdom’s steadfast strides in MMA sport. HH Shaikh Khalid paid tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser, whose constant follow-up, he said, has reflected positively on the team’s landmark results.
