King's efforts to strengthen Arab cooperation hailed

Manama, Apr. 28 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh hailed the historic visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to Egypt. He commended long-standing relations binding Bahrain and Egypt and steadily-growing cooperation and said that HM the King's visit to Egypt would strengthen joint ties further. Al-Saleh lauded the positive results of the talks between HM the King and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, stressing the importance of the summit which focused also on regional issues and challenges confronting the Arab and Islamic nations. He highlighted the growing terrorist threats, blatant foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and the defamatory campaigns against Arabs and Muslims. He underscored the importance of the agreements which, he said, would further bolster military, diplomatic, economic, trade and cultural ties. The Shura Council Chairman stressed the significance of HM the King's meetings with Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb and Pope Tawadros II which, he said, reflect Bahrain's openness on all religious and respect of all faiths. He commended the meetings of HM King Hamad with the Arab ambassadors to Egypt and Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, hailing his efforts and initiatives to strengthen pan-Arab cooperation.
