Kishida, BOJ's Kuroda Reaffirm Inflation Target

Tokyo, Nov. 4 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda reaffirmed on Thursday the government-BOJ joint statement of 2013, which set out the 2 pct inflation target. After his first meeting with Kishida at the prime minister's office since Kishida took office in early October, Kuroda told reporters that he "talked with the prime minister about economic and financial situations in and outside the country." Kuroda said that he explained to Kishida the BOJ's monetary policy management. The Japanese prime minister and the BOJ governor hold meetings regularly. The last such meeting was held on June 23 between Kishida's immediate predecessor, Yoshihide Suga, and Kuroda. END
