KPK Questions Energy Ministry Secretary General Again

Jakarta, Nov 25 (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday questioned the Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Waryono Karno again as a witness in an alleged money laundering case. "I will be questioned about RR," Waryono said at the KPK building, referring to the former Chief of Upstream Oil and Gas regulatory special task force (SKK Migas), who has been named as a suspect in the case. Waryono arrived at the KPK building at 08:30 a.m. He was also questioned on Oct. 21 and Nov. 4 in connection with an alleged graft case at the SKK Migas involving RR. KPK officers had recovered US$200 thousand during a search conducted at Waryono`s office. Since then, the KPK has imposed overseas travel bans on the secretary general and the adjutant of the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister. RR was named as a suspect for allegedly accepting a bribe of US$400 thousand from the commissioner of PT Kernel Oil Private Limited through his golf trainer. He was arrested at his house in Jl. Brawijaya, South Jakarta, on Aug. 13. Later, the KPK also named him as a suspect in the money laundering case. On Oct. 28, the KPK had seized a plot of land in Tebet, South Jakarta and a house in Bandung, West Java. The KPK had also seized 127 thousand Singapore dollars and 90 thousand US dollars from RR.
