Lao PDR PM officially visits Thailand July 5-6

BANGKOK, July 6 (TNA) - Prime Minister of Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) Thongloun Sisoulith is paying a two-day official visit to Thailand as the guest of the Thai government, scheduled for July 5-6, aimed to enhance bilateal relations between Vientiane and Bangkok. Accompanied by his entourage, including his spouse, the visiting Lao PDR prime minister was officially welcomed by his Thai counterpart General Prayut Chan-ocha at Bangkok's Government House on Wednesday morning, during which both leaders also inspected the guards of honour. Both the Lao PDR and Thai premiers then held bilateral talks, followed by plenary discussions by both sides, on bilateral ties and cooperation between Lao PDR and Thailand, as well as relations among neighbouring Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand, called in short as CLMVT. The Lao PDR and Thai leaders later witnessed the signing of an agreement between Vientiane and Bangkok on bilateral labour cooperation and attended a luncheon, hosted by the Thai prime minister in honour of his visiting Lao PDR counterpart. The Lao PDR premier is visiting Thailand for the first time as the prime minister of the neighbouring country to strengthen familiarity and relations with the Thai leaders, along with driving forward bilateral relations between Vientiane and Bangkok.
