Lao PDR, Thailand hold 1st joint Red Cross Conference

BANGKOK, May 27 (TNA) - The Thai Red Cross Society has joined forces with the Croix-Rouge Lao to hold the First Thai-Lao Red Cross Conference, aimed to build up sound bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries at an institutional level. Thai Red Cross Society Secretary-General Phan Wannamethee and Croix-Rouge Lao Vice President Thongphachanh Sonnasin jointly chaired the opening session of the 1st Thai-Lao Red Cross Conference in Thailand's northeastern Nong Khai Province on Friday, marking the World Red Cross Day 2016. The conference was also aimed to create a platform for Red Cross offices in the 12 Thai provinces and Croix-Rough Lao offices in nine provinces to get acquainted and exchange information with each other, as well as discuss on their cooperation and joint operations in the future.
