Large lot of smuggled oil seized in Thai South

BANGKOK, July 1 (TNA) - A combined force of Thai police and soldiers in the southern region has intercepted and seized a large lot of smuggled oil and arrested the captain and the crew of a boat carrying the smuggled fuel. The combined Thai authorities intercepted on Monday the fishing boat while its nine crew members were loading the 80,000 liter-smuggled oil on the shore of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province in the Thai South then seized all the smuggled fuel and arrested the captain and all the nine crew members. The arrested men initially told the authorities that they had been hired to use the modified oil tanker to take the fuel from a large oil tanker floating offshore at a location of the longitude 100 and the latitude 100 and then spent about 17-20 hours each of the several past operations to sail the boat ashore, before the smuggled diesel would be distributed to traders in many southern Thai provinces. The Thai combined force has detained the captain and all the nine crew members for further interrogations and has seized the modified fishing boat and all the smuggled diesel while conducting a thorough investigation to find and track down all those behind the case.
