The largest US companies show interest in investing in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 12 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov held talks with the delegation of the US trade mission headed by chairman of the US-Kyrgyz Business Council Thomas Firestone, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported. Zheenbekov assured that the government of the country welcomes American investors and takes measures to create the most attractive conditions for foreign investors. He also said that the US remains one of the important trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. "The United States was one of the first to recognize the independence of Kyrgyzstan. During these years our countries have achieved certain successes in their relations. We maintain close contacts at the state level, expand cooperation in the field of economy and investment," Zheenbekov stressed. In turn, chairman of the US-Kyrgyz Business Council Thomas Firestone emphasized mutual interest in the development of bilateral economic relations. This is evidenced by the first Kyrgyz-American business forum, which was opened on July 11 in Bishkek. Firestone stressed that the US delegation included representatives of the largest American companies. They have already shown interest in investing in the economy of Kyrgyzstan. In particular, at a meeting with the Prime Minister, major investment projects in the field of infrastructure, industry, and agriculture were discussed. The Prime Minister said that the country's authorities are ready to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with US investors. The head of government also expressed hope that this meeting will give an impetus to economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United States.
