Latvia’s artistic works at IAF

Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA – First secretary of the Latvian embassy met the head of Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) on Wednesday, saying that his country is keen to hold artistic programs in the Iranian center. Marcis Maksims said that his country is keen to hold artistic programs including photo exhibitions in IAF, hoping that Iran-Latvia’s ties will expand in the future. “Latvia does not have an embassy in Iran and we are based in Turkey. Considering the great cultural and artistic programs of IAF and the experiences of our colleagues in other countries, we have decided to develop our cultural and artistic ties with Iran”, he said. Following his meeting with the head of IAF, Majid Sarsangi, the Latvian official visited the center’s exhibitions. For his part, Sarsangi, emphasized on the significance of Iran-Latvia’s cultural and artistic ties, saying: “Logical ties based on mutual cultural and artistic respect, stabilizes the nations’ friendship and stability. IAF has tried to take effective steps to promote the cultural and artistic ties of Iran with other countries.” “When foreign artists visit Iran and see the country's positive features, they can indeed become cultural envoys in their own countries to present the real image of Iran and foil the negative propaganda some states hold against the Islamic Republic,” he noted./end
