Lavrov to head Russian delegation to UNESCO General Conference session

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Paris at the end of the week at the head of the Russian delegation to the 38th session of UNESCO’s General Conference, which opens in Paris on November 3. It is a jubilee session as this year UNESCO marks 70 years since it was established, Foreign Ministry sources said. Taking part in the session will be representatives from 195 member countries. Lavrov will speak at general debate on November 6 and will also meet with the director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Irina Bokova. The Russian delegation will also include Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, representatives from some ministries and agencies, renowned educationalists, scientists and cultural activists.
