Lavrov, Kerry urge mutually acceptable solutions on Iran’s nuclear program

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry in a phone conversation on Friday called for the need to find the mutually acceptable solutions at talks on the Iranian nuclear program, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said. The sides discussed the progress at the international negotiations on reaching a comprehensive agreement on resolving the situation around the Iranian nuclear program, the ministry said after the phone conversation. "They confirmed the need for immediately finding the mutually acceptable solutions," the ministry said in a statement. "Lavrov and Kerry agreed to continue contacts on the issue," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed. The phone conversation was held at the US initiative, the statement reads. Iran and the United States are holding the sixth day in a row of intensive nuclear talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne. The talks come in an effort to facilitate a comprehensive nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers (UN Security Council plus Germany, or P5+1). Read more
