Law on free port in Primorsky Region should be passed in spring session of parliament - President Putin

NOVO-OGAREVO, April 3. /TASS/. The Far East Development Ministry should more actively interact with the Russian parliament so that documents on establishment of the free port in the Primorsky Region are passed during the spring session, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday at the meeting on the Far East development. "I would like to invite your attention to the fact that the State Duma should pass all the legislative amendments governing operations of the Vladivostok free port already during the spring session," the head of state told the minister for the Far East Development Alexander Galushka. "Work with the colleagues from the parliament should be active and all the parameters of this draft law should be agreed," Putin said. An idea of establishing a free port in the Primorsky Region "is a good proposal," Putin said. "It should be implemented," the president added. A relevant draft law has already been prepared, the minister for the Far East Development Alexander Galushka said. "It is currently at the phase of endorsement by the federal executive authorities, public hearings and public discussions," the minister added. The document "is the development of ideas in the IDT law and contains certain special matters, such as border crossing, visas, and open skies conditions," Galushka said. "We expect to bring the endorsed draft law to the Russian government by the end of month," the minister said. "We believe the experience we will gain will be highly useful for development of the free ports legislation at large," he added. Read more
