At least Bt100m expected to be changed hands during Hari Raya

SONGKHLA, THAILAND, June 29 (TNA) - The Tourists Business Federation of Songkhla (TFOS) has estimated that at least 100 million baht should be changed hands during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri Festival in Hat Yai, Thailand's business hub in the southern Songkhla Province. TFOS Chief Surapol Kampalanonwat made the projection on June 28, as hotel rooms in Hat Yai have been booked increasingly by travellers for the Hari Raya celebrations during July 6-7, including those from neighbouring Malaysia, following the end of this year's Ramadan fasting month of Muslims. According to the TFOS chief, regular patrols in Hat Yai by combined security forces of local police and defence volunteers have been arranged during the forthcoming Hari Raya festivity. (TNA)
