Lebanese Academic Thanks Iran For Scientific Co-op

Beirut, June 23, IRNA – President of Lebanese University Adnan Sayyed Hussein, in meeting with Iranˈs Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi on Saturday, thanked Iran for planning expansion of academic exchanges and scientific, technological cooperation. The Lebanese official, heading a group of Lebanese academics, recently paid a visit to Iran and met with some officials of Ministry of Higher Education and presidents of many important universities of Iran. Referring to last year opening of Persian Language and Literature Department at the Lebanese University, Adnan Sayyed Hussein asked Iranˈs envoy to help the Department by sending outstanding Iranian professors. The president of Lebanese University referred to signing of memoranda of understanding with many Iranian universities and research centers and said these documents show determination in the two countries to develop bilateral scientific and technological cooperation. He told Iranian envoy that Lebanese University is ready to accept Iranian students at doctorate level./end
