LIBRARY RECEIVES SCRIPT ON BIRCH BARK CULTURAL PIECE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ One of the unique cultural pieces of Mongolia, the script written on birch bark has arrived here after rehabilitating it in Germany. The Ambassador of Germany to Mongolia Mr Peter Schaller granted on Monday to Ts.Oyungerel, the Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism. It has been restored in the University of Bonn in frames of the Mongolia-Germany intergovernmental agreement on culture established in 1992. The scholars of the university took 17 years to restore the treasure, moreover they have issues a two-volume book of the script. They underlined that the script in birch bark has worn out deeply due to a long-time storage, therefore they worked hard to restore it. Ch.Enkhtuya
