MACA Can Become Important Anti-Corruption Training Centre In Asia Pacific

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) is capable of becoming the most important anti-corruption training centre in Asia Pacific region in the future. Its director, Abdul Wahab Abdul Aziz, said many international institutions and organisations were willing to work with MACA in providing training staff and experts to conduct its trainings and courses. The number of international participants who had undergone training courses at MACA this year had risen to 471 participants from only 236 last year. "Participants from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Vietnam and Indonesia were among those who attended training and courses at MACA. "MACA has trained 32,611 local and international participants via 1,014 programmes since 2006," he told a press conference in conjunction with MACA's 10th anniversary celebration from Nov 29 to Dec 1. Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission former deputy chief commissioner (Management and Professionalism) Zakaria Jaffar will be awarded the inaugural MACA fellowship during the celebration. The celebration with the theme of 'A Decade of Excellence' will include the 'Cycle for Excellence' fun ride, Integrity Debate, MACA Executive Talk, blood donation and health screening. -- BERNAMA
