Mahan Passenger Jet Has Emergency Landing In Sirjan

Kerman, July 1, IRNA – Managing Director of Kerman Airports, Mohammad Nakha’ie, informed IRNA here Sunday evening that a Mahan Air passenger jet had an emergency landing, due to technical difficulties, in Sirjan Airport. Nakha’ie added, “Engine number 4 of the plane stopped functioning ten minutes after takeoff, which urged the pilot to ask for an emergency landing.” He said, “The Mahan Air passenger jet had departed Sirjan Airport for Tehran at 13:30 Sunday afternoon and its pilot reported the technical difficulty in its fourth engine at 13:40.” The aviation official added, “After the announcement of the emergency situation by Sirjan Airport Control Tower the relief and aid teams of the airport rushed to the spot, but fortunately the plane landed safely and all its passengers left the plane safe and sound. Nakha’ie said that there were 70 passengers aboard the Mahan Air passenger jet./end
