Mahendra Mangku Presents Art Works At Tony Raka Gallery

Denpasar, Baki, July 17 (Antara) - Yogyakarta`s Indonesian Institute of the Arts` alumnus, Made Mahendra Mangku`s, 30-meter-long and 50-centimeter-wide work of art will be part of his solo show at Tony Raka Gallery, Gianyar, on July 18-August 18, 2014. "The work of the memorial footage canvas is one of the 25 paintings in the exhibition titled, `Interior Journey`," the curator Arif B. Prasetyo stated here on Thursday. He noted that the longest painting reflects Mahendra`s soul and is arranged in a large frame that can be enjoyed by everyone. "The painting made on Chinese paper can be relished through a projector so that it looks unique and interesting," he pointed out. Meanwhile, 24 other paintings are the latest artworks of Mahendra Mangku Made created during 2013 and 2014. Mangku`s works of abstract are enthused and collected by a lot of art lovers in European countries and Indonesia. Arif B. Prasetyo explained that Made Mahendra Mangku starts a new inner journey in the process of creating the subsequent work. "Mangku`s works come from practice, instead of a predetermined idea or image, so that the form appears in the creative process, which evokes the harmonization of lines and colors," Arif affirmed. Emerging forms without any plans or drafts hinted that the artist has learned to pay close attention to what is being created in the painting. By the method of "painting as an inner journey", he emphasized that Mangku has explored the composition rules for painting to create the form. "Therefore, Mangku is able to present the work of creative evolution when it creates its own form of internal excitatory movements during the painting process, as the form grows and develops over time," Arif explained. His artworks demonstrate the process of birth and resurrection of something new and previously unthinkable, he added.
