Malaysia Hopes For Peace In Yemen With Signing Of Accord

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Sept 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysia on Tuesday expressed the hope that the peace accord signed by the political parties in Yemen would be fully implemented for the return of peace to that country. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it would monitor closely the developments in Yemen to ensure the safety and welfare of Malaysians there. It said the National Security Council, via the Malaysian embassy in Sana'a, had taken the initiative to help more than 440 Malaysian students living in a temporary accommodation in Sana'a to obtain basic needs such as food and clean water until the situation was safe for them to return to their respective hostels and living quarters. Last Sunday, the Yemeni government signed the Peace and Partnership Agreement with the representatives of the warring parties. --BERNAMA
