Malaysia Targets Higher Position In Universitas 21 Ranking

LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia), Sept 4 (Bernama) -- The Higher Education Ministry of Malaysia is committed to improving Malaysia's ranking to 25th position in the Universitas 21 (U21), next year. Its Minister Idris Jusoh said currently, Malaysia attained an overall ranking of 27th out of 50 countries surveyed compared to 28th in 2014. "We need to work harder to achieve this goal which I am sure can be achieved due to improvement in terms of the research quality done by our universities," he said when launching the High Impact Journals Publication National Conference here Thursday night. According to him, the achievement of the public universities had also improved in various areas with all five research universities being listed in the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2015 for nine subject areas. "In 2014, four of our scientists have been listed in the World's Most Influential Scientific Minds," he said. --BERNAMA
