Malaysia Will Stick To Principles Of Justice In Its Foreign Policy

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak Thursday reiterated that Malaysia's foreign policy will always be based on the principles of justice in all aspects. This was the reason why he had gone to Gaza as he wanted to stress the importance of the politics of solidarity and unity between the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and Hamas, besides channeling humanitarian aid to the victims of the Israeli bombardment there, he said. "Imagine if the PLO and Hamas were together, there would not have been any uprising in Egypt. If there was no war in Syria, the wellbeing of the Muslims would have been better," he said. Najib said for as long as there was political strength, Malaysia would continue to be the strongest supporter of those who championed the cause of the Palestinians. He repeated the stand of the government in strongly condemning the cruel attacks launched by Israel on Gaza which had killed thousands of innocent civilians including children. "Where is the principle of morality? If we want to wage war on anyone, there must be principles of morality involved, unlike what is being done to the Palestinians who are being oppressed as though they were living in prison, where is the principle of justice?" he said. He said this in his speech at the Ulama-Umara Premier Council and Malaysian Mosque Award 2014 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), here Thursday. -- BERNAMA
