Malaysian Delegates Attend Artifact Preservation Workshop In Italy

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) recently led a Malaysian delegation to Rome, Italy to participate in a workshop on Digital Content for Cultural Heritage and Smart Tourism held from July 25 to 28. The delegation headed by the KKMM secretary-general, Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad included participants from the Melaka and Terengganu Museums and other companies involved in the preservation of media and historical artifacts. Melaka and Terengganu are states in peninsular Malaysia. The four-day workshop aimed to expose participants to the latest technology in preservation and restoration of historical materials in creating and adding value to these artifacts and indirectly attract more visitors to the museums. At the end of the worskshop, an agreement for collaboration and cooperation in the field of cultural, creative and film industries was signed between Finas (The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia) and Lazio Innova of Italy. The signing ceremony was attended by Lazio Innova president, Dr Stefano Fantacone, dignitaries and Malaysian Embassy representative in Italy, Captain Roslan Idris. --BERNAMA
