Malaysians, Laotian nabbed for cocaine smuggling

NARATHIWAT, August 8 - Two Malaysians and a Laotian were arrested with illicit drug at a hotel in the the southern province of Narathiwat. Sub Inspector of the southern Naratiwat Immigration Office Pol Capt Thanakorn Sapprasarn led a team of police force to raid room number of 717 of Venice Palace Hotel on Chuen Makkha of Su-ngai Golok district this early morning, after receiving a report that a group of a Malaysian drug agents have rented the room to make a deliver of illegal narcotics to a Thai syndicate. The police found 2 male Malaysians and a female Laotian in the room during the raid. The Malaysian suspects were identified as originally from Malaysia's Kalantan State. The police then carried out a thorough search of the room and found a bag of 3.1 kilogrammes of cocaine, as well as a bag of 0.18 grammes of crystal methamphetamine or ice. The Malaysian suspects admitted to smuggling in the drugs from Malaysian to deliver then to Thai drugs agents. On the other hand, the Laotian female suspect said she was not involved with the two Malaysians, however, after the police take her into a urine test, the colour they found there was purple which was the positive test result. The authorities then arrested all three suspects along with the evidence for further prosecutions. (TNA)
