Malaysia's Queen Receives Courtesy Call From CAPAM 2014 Delegates' Spouses

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Queen Tuanku Hajah Haminah on Monday received a courtesy call from three spouses of delegates attending the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) 2014 biennial conference. They were the wife of South Africa Department of Public Service of Administration Minister Khensani Mavis Chabane, Palestine Cabinet Secretary General's wife Rawan Hatem Rafeq Alnasser, and wife of Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Leslie Ann Antoinette-Cooper. Puspanita President Rohani Abdullah was also present to accompany them during the meeting that lasted for about one hour at the Dewan Seri Temenggong, Istana Negara (National Palace), here. Themed 'Public Service Transformation: A New Conversation', the conference is organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) and Commonwealth Secretariat. The three-day conference is being held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre and was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on Sunday. The conference is designed to offer insightful dialogue, theoretical and practical knowledge exchange and networking to an international audience that is building the public service for the future across the Commonwealth. Some 1,500 participants from the Commonwealth countries comprising heads of governments, senior public service employees, academicians and researchers are attending the event. CAPAM is a non-profit association with an international network of 1,100 senior public service employees, heads of governments, leading academicians and researchers from 53 nations across the grouping. --BERNAMA
