Malaysia's Sarawak Want To Work With Melbourne On Early Childhood Education

KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), Sept 18 (Bernama) -- East Malaysian state of Sarawak is interested to work with Melbourne in developing its early childhood education system, says its Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Fatimah Abdullah. Fatimah said she was very impressed with Melbourne's early childhood eduaction system during her visit there recently. "Their early childhood education and support system are simply the best. "We looked into the possiblity of having a sister school with one primary school in Melbourne," she told Bernama, here, after receiving the visit of the Thailand Women's Business Council delegates on Wednesday. She said Melbourne also had a good support system for women's empowerment and leadership, as well as welfare and volunteerism programmes. Besides that, she said Melbourne had a very good and systematic support system which they called human services. "The programmes and supporting systems come under several ministries and they are very good and holistic kind of support systems," she added. --BERNAMA
