Maliki: Ki-moon's Visit Is An Evidence Of The International Community's Follow-Up To Iraq's Efforts To Fight Against Terrorism

BAGHDAD / NINA / Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki said: "the visit of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to Iraq in this period is an evidence of the international community's follow-up to steps taken by Iraq to fight terrorism." Maliki said in a joint news conference with Secretary-General Kofi Annan today: "The meeting with Ban Ki-moon saw a discussion to the political process in Iraq and the ongoing talks to elect the President of the Republic. For his part, the secretary-general of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon declared his support to Iraqi efforts to overcome the division and the unity of the word. Ki-moon added in the news conference with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki: "I renew my support for the efforts of the Iraqi government in its fight against terrorism and everyone's serious steps for the formation of the Iraqi government." / End
