Maliki, U.S Secretary of Defense Emphasize Comprehensive Strategy To Defeat Terrorism

Washington / NINA / Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki agreed with U.S. Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel and the U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey to develop a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism and eliminate al-Qaeda. Maliki said : "The nature of the challenges, facing Iraq and the region, require a higher level of cooperation and coordination between the two countries ." Al-Maliki added: "Iraq is following an integrated strategy to eliminate terrorism, and to removal its danger away from Iraqis, who are united in facing it as it aim everyone." He said : "The conditions, we are experiencing now, are serious and accurate, but Iraq already passed the most difficult situation and came out and overcome these conditions, adding, the terrorists' strategy today is (hit and run) and they cannot control on road or city but they kill innocent and defenseless here and there." For his part, the U.S Minister of Defense said that the United States is fully aware of what Iraq needs to confront terrorism, calling for greater cooperation and coordination to defeat al Qaeda. Gen. Dempsey welcomed developing comprehensive strategy to confront the Al-Qaida and pledged the U.S. support for this strategy. / End
