Manufacture of Chevrolet Orlando minivans to be launched in Uzbekistan in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Nov. 27 By Demir Azizov - Trend: In the first quarter of 2014 the Uzbek-American joint venture (JV) GM Uzbekistan CJSC will start a conveyor production of the Chevrolet Orlando family minivan This was announced during the Uzbek and Turkmen presidents' visit to the General Motors Powertrain Uzbekistan company in Tashkent. The new car model was presented to the heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in an overall line-up of modern cars, trucks and agricultural machinery produced in Uzbekistan. JV GM Uzbekistan has not yet commented on the planned volume of manufacture, specifications and cost of the project. According to the Chevrolet official website, the Chevrolet Orlando is a seven-seater compact family van based on the Chevrolet Cruze platform. The five-door car has three rows of seats in any configuration. The car interior can be transformed into a large luggage compartment with a volume of 958 litres with five seats, or 1594 litres with two seats. Currently, General Motors produces this model in South Korea, Russia, Venezuela and Vietnam.
