Mashhad displaying Iran's UNESCO-registered sites

Mashhad, Nov. 02 (MNA) – A museum in the holy city of Mashhad is exhibiting Iranian sites registered in UNESCO's list of World Heritage. The photos of Iranian sites registered in UNESCO's list of World Heritage are being displayed in an exhibition in Mashhad which kicked off on Sunday. Talking about the expo, Deputy Head of Khorasan Razavi’s Cultural Heritage and Handicrafts said that the event is held in order to introduce the works to the people and visitors. The exhibition is house to 30 photos. Following the current event, the works will also be displayed in other historical-cultural complexes of Mashhad including Tous as well as other cities namely Gonabad, Sabzevar and Nishapur. The historical sites registered in the list are Tchogha Zanbil, Persepolis, Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Takht-e Soleiman, Bam and its cultural landscape, Pasargadae, Soltaniyeh, Bisotun, Armenian Monastic Ensembles of Iran, Susa historical hydraulic system, Tabriz historic bazaar complex, the mausoleum of Sheikh Safi ad-Din Ardebili, the Persian garden, Isfahan’s Friday Mosque, Gonbad-e Qabus, Golestan Palace, the Burnt city, the cultural Landscape of Maymand as well as Susa. World Heritage site is a title that is given to the locations, which have 'outstanding universal value' to all humanity, according to the UNESCO description.
