Mashhad hosting Roshd Int'l Film Festival

Mashhad, Nov 16, IRNA – The 44th International Roshd Film Festival opened in Khorasan Razavi's Farhangian University in Mashhad Friday and will continue for a week. Chancellor of the university, Seyyed Hossein Mojtabavi told the inaugural ceremony of the event that this year some 30 Iranian and foreign films with various genres of feature, animation and short films will be screened in this edition of the ongoing festival. Seventh art, film and cinema, is one of the effective ways of conveying scientific and cultural experience, he said. The 44th Roshd International Film Festival opened Friday with 209 educational and pedagogical films from 14 countries. Some 18 Iranian and foreign jurors will judge the entries within a week. Roshd International Film Festival is centered on the films with educational and pedagogical themes and is held every year by the Educational Media Center, affiliated to Iran's Ministry of Education. Main objective of the event is identifying and selecting the best educational and pedagogical films in order to introduce them to the educational systems.
