Mass marriage certificate signing to be held in Hua Hin in honour of Thai King, Queen

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, THAILAND, April 11 (TNA) - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT), in cooperaton with many other public and private parties, will hold a mass marriage certificate signing for 66 couples, both Thais and foreigners, on April 24, 2016 at the Hua Hin Train Station in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in the Upper Thai South in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Hua Hin Train Station Master Prasong Gomukh told journalists of the event on April 10, saying that all proceeds of the special activity will be used to fund activities aimed to promote awaremess of local people, especially youths, to love their hometown. Prasong stated that the event, themed "Hua Hin Station Memory of Love", will be co-organised by SRT, Hua Hin Train Station, the Ministry of Interior and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the local private sector, during which the 66 couples will simultaneously sign their marriage certifcates at the sign post of the Hua Hin Train Station. Prasong noted that the event is organised in honour of Their Majesties the King and Queen on the auspicious occasion of the 66th royal wedding anniversary of Their Majesties the King and Queen on April 28, 2016. According to the Hua Hin Train Station master, all the participants will wear traditional Thai costumes and will first travel on a special caravan from Bangkok's main Hua Lampong Train Station to Hua Hin Train Station. The couples will then be led by local young tour guides to tour around seaside Hua Hin District on trolley buses before coming back to sign their marriage certificates at the Hua Hin Train Station's sign post. Besides, the couples will enjoy a pre-wedding photoshoot and a mass wedding ceremony organised at the station. The station master revealed that the event will be, from this year on, held every year, like the annual underwater wedding ceremony held in Trang Province in the Thai Far South. (TNA)
