Mass rallies in support of H-bomb testing held in all provinces of DPRK

PYONGYANG, January 12. /TASS/. Mass rallies in support of testing of the thermonuclear bomb that was held on January 6 have been held in all the nine provinces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Korean media said. These public functions brought together many thousands of people, including services of the Korean People's Army, officers of security agencies, officials from regional agencies of state power, workers, members of public associations, school and college students. The activists who took the floor at the rallies stressed this country's right to holding a test of this kind at a time of U.S. unending attempts to provoke a nuclear was on the Korean Peninsula. They reaffirmed the resolve to continue showing dignity and might of the republic as a nuclear power. Following the H-bomb test, which the North Korean authorities and media describe as a successful one, the Pyoongyang newspapers are leveling sharp criticism at the U.S. Administration to sign a peace treaty with the DPRK and Washington's decision to redeploy a B-52 strategic bomber from the U.S. airbase on Guam to South Korea. Rodong Sinmun daily of the Korean Workers' Party said in a comment on Tuesday the U.S. was using an alleged North Korean threat for the implementation of its strategic objectives in the Asia-Pacific region.
