Mayor receives Jean Jacques Annaud

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E.Bat-Uul received Tuesday the director of the "Wolf Totem". Present was an actress R.Ankhnyam who played one of the main roles in this feature film. The sides exchanged their views about film art. The French director was awarded a medal of Ulaanbaatar’s 375th anniversary. The Mayor said it was an honor to meet Mr Annaud and that he had watched many of his films, "your works always have strong reflection on the minds of viewers". He also gave information about the city of Ulaanbaatar, saying, for example that this year is its 375th anniversary and that a museum in the name of High Saint Zanabazar, the founder of Ulaanbaatar, will be erected soon. In response, the guest said he is glad to visit the city that is growing more beautiful day by day and that he had heard many people wanted to travel to Mongolia as they see its fascinating landscape from the "Wolf Totem". "I will make my contribution to the development of Mongolia’s film art", he added. On April 20, the director met with the Minister of Education, Culture and Science L.Gantomor. During this meeting, R.Ankhnyam, who played Galsmaa’s role, was awarded the “Polar Star” order according to a degree of the President. Mr Annaud expressed a satisfaction with a way Mongolians appreciate the "Wolf Totem" film and said he is glad that one of the main casts of the film is being awarded the State order. "She is a very talented and smart actress," he said.
