MCOT celebrates 36th anniversary

BANGKOK, April 9 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established and leading Thai media firm, celebrates its 36th anniversary on April 9, 2013. An event to mark the milestone began Tuesday morning with merit making ceremonies and worships of sanctity by MCOT's executives and staffs, led by MCOT's President Anek Permvongseni, as well as a number of honourable guests and the presentation of royal bouquets to the company by representatives of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Phannavadi and Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali, which were delivered by royal representatives. Meanwhile, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Warathep Ratanakorn, who oversees MCOT and presided over the event, expressed his appreciation to MCOT's progressive development over almost the past four decades. As the advance digital broadcasting technologies are in sight, Warathep advises that MCOT needs ‘pioneering spirit’ and revolutionary moves to forge ahead the company's complete digital services in the future. The minister also presented the outstanding personnel award to 31 MCOT staffs and the innovative aerial photographing award to Thanin Bao-Heung of MCOT's northeastern engineering centre for his state-of-the-art aerial picture taken by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for news reports. On the same occasion, an exhibition on digital broadcasting technologies was also organized at the MCOT headquarters, as the MCOT president, on the other hand, invited public participation in a nationwide fundraising for the construction of a 10-storey hospital building in Thailand's northeastern Chaiyaphum Province.
