MCOT celebrates 37th anniversary

BANGKOK, April 9 (TNA) - Thailand's leading broadcaster, MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), celebrates the 37th anniversary of its establishment on April 9, 2014, marking the dawn of the country’s digital television era as well. Representatives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak and Her Royal Highness Princess Ubol Ratana brought vases of flowers and delivered messages of best wishes to MCOT on Wednesday morning, when the company organised activities, including a merit making ceremony, to celebrate its 37th anniversary, presided over by MCOT President Anek Permvongseni. MCOT, which runs Modernine TV, MCOT Radio Networks and Thai News Agency (TNA), also welcomed well-wishing guests from various public and private firms who extended their congratulations to the company on the auspicious occasion. According to the MCOT president, MCOT, Thailand's first television station, has long developed and served the public, from the black and white to the colour analog broadcasting systems and now the digital TV era, in which MCOT will continue entertaining viewers with its knowledge-based programmes through its high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) systems on children and family channels, with the support of the company's allied operators.(TNA)
