MCOT to organize Technology Street Fair 2013, Thai BEx

BANGKOK, June 5 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm, will organize the Technology Street Fair 2013, from June 15-16, and Thailand Broadcasting Exhibition or Thai BEx under the theme of 'Go Go Digital Thailand 2013:Gearing up for ASEAN Digitization, from July 25-28. MCOT Vice President Sura Kentanasilp told a press conference on Tuesday that the Technology Street Fair 2013, organized for the 12th consecutive year, is aimed to promote the building of knowledge and creativity of robotic technology and automatic engineering among Thai youths, as well as their systematic and team-working skills. A major event as part of this year's Technology Street Fair is the ABU Robot Championship Thailand 2013, themed "The Green Planet", organized for Thai university and vocational-level students, in which the winner of the competition, among 32 contesting teams nationwide, will represent Thailand in the International ABU Robot Contest 2013, set to be held later this year in Vietnam. Another technology contest will also be held as part of the two-day event, themed "Innovations for Fresh Air", aimed to promote Thailand's development of technological systems and designs to cope with the problem of global warming or climate change, with its masterpieces including a laser system used to measure levels of dust particles in the air, a solar-cell-generated air purifier and a grill which reduceS cancer risks for users. The admission for the Technology Street Fair 2013, set to be organized at Central Plaza Chaengwattana, is free and Modernine TV, run by MCOT, will live broadcast the ABU Championship Thailand 2013 on June 16, from 2-4pm, Thailand's time. Meanwhile, MCOT will also organize Thailand Broadcasting Exhibition or Thai BEx, under the theme of "Go Go Digital Thailand 2013:Gearing up for ASEAN Digitization, from July 25-28 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre to showcase latest technologies used in the more advance digital broadcasting era. MCOT President Anek Permvongseni recently announced that, during the four-day event, MCOT will make use of its expertise to give visitors a better understanding about the digital media industry, as new media innovations will be displayed in eight separated zones, including Broadcast, Communication, Multi-Media, and Mobile Outdoor.
