Measure To Use One Channel To Recruit Indonesian Maids Will Hopefully Resolve Problems

MARAN (Pahang, Malaysia Feb 7 (Bernama) -- It is hoped that the measure taken by the Malaysian and Indonesian governments to use only one channel for the recruitment of domestic maids from the republic will resolve all issues arising in respect to the foreign workers' welfare in this country. Human Resource Deputy Minister Ismail Abdul Muttalib said there were various problems in the past, including social and health issues, stemming from illegal foreign workers. "With this agreement, there will be a system that is more streamlined and structured to coordinate the entry of foreign workers (maids) who are trained. "Therefore we hope that after this measure (using one channel), they can work better," he told reporters after presenting prizes for excellent performance in the Primary School Evaluation Test (UPSR) 2014 and aid to students who were victims of the recent floods in the state constituency of Luit contributed by the Pahang Foundation, here Friday. Ismail was commenting on the agreement reached between Malaysia and Indonesia during the first visit of the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo to the country, in Putrajaya Friday. Prime Minister Najib Razak said through such measures monitoring of all issues, including efforts to safeguard Indonesian workers can be conducted more effectively. -- BERNAMA
