Media role in Yemen operations highlighted

Manama, July 7 (BNA): The Minister of Information Affairs Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi has lauded the participation of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) in Operation Resolve Storm and Operation Restore Hope to consecrate legitimacy in Yemen and fight terrorism in order to achieve security, peace and stability in the Arabian Gulf. The minister stressed, as he received members of the Bahrain Television News who covered the two operations, that the Bahraini and Gulf media were together with the Saudi-led Arab-Islamic alliance protecting legitimacy, security and stability in Yemen and in the Gulf region. Al Hammadi thanked the media figures for their contribution to confronting plots and schemes attempting to undermine stability and security in the region, expressing pride with the keenness of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and other leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on ensuring the unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Yemen as well as on confronting the calls that inflame sectarian tension, hatred and divisions. The minister said that the unified military and media stance throughout the two operations in Yemen and in confronting terrorism and plots targeting the region represents an impressive boost to the forward-looking progress of the GCC countries towards the Gulf union.
