Medical Team Sent To Sukhoi Crash Site

Bandung, West Java, May 10 (ANTARA) - The West Java Health Office has sent a medical team and a disaster victim identification team to the crash site of the Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 in the Mount Salak area of Bogor district. "The medical team, along with a team from the West Java Police, was sent to the crash site on Thursday morning to help carry out the evacuation and identification process," reported West Java Health Office spokesperson Alma Luciaty over her cellular phone. She added that apart from the medical team, 55 ambulances had been sent to assist in the evacuation process. "All 55 ambulances from Bogor city, Bogor district, and Sukabumi district are in standby position at the Tamansari clinic in Bogor and Cidahu clinic in Sukabumi," Alma remarked. The Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 was on a demonstration flight with 50 people on board when it went missing in the Mount Salak area in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, a search helicopter spotted the wreckage of the ill-fated plane 5,500 feet high on the edge of a cliff. The crash site was located at the coordinates 06.42.612 and 1064441.2, around 3.5 kilometres from Cijeruk command post, Bogor district, West Java, said the chief coordinator of the Mount Halimun Salak National Park, Ketut Purwa.
