Meeting Marking Chairman Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary Held in Japan

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- A Juche idea and Japan-DPRK friendship and peace meeting was held in Kochi City of Japan on Feb. 12 on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il. Attending the meeting were Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea (IIJI), representatives from the Juche idea study organizations and personages in Japan. In the first part, lectures were given by Yuji Fukuhara, professor of the postgraduate course of Shimane Prefectural University, and So Sun Ae, assistant professor of the Political Economy Faculty of Korean University. The speakers said that Chairman Kim Jong Il provided an eternal foundation for building a powerful country by developing the DPRK into an invincible power with his outstanding idea and indefatigable revolutionary leadership. Rector of Korean University Han Tong Song, who is a director of the IIJI, made a concluding speech. In the second part, a performance was given by members of the Japan-Korea Society for Music and Art Interchange and Juche idea study organizations and artistes. At the meeting, a letter to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un by the Kochi Society for the Study of the Juche Idea and the IIJI was read out. -0-
