Merit-making on Makha Bucha Day

Bangkok, March 1 (TNA) – The Bangkok governor led a large crowd to give alms to 67 Buddhist monks at the City Hall on the occasion of the Makha Bucha Day. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration organised the activity to mark the Makha Bucha Day, the day when Lord Buddha taught the core of Buddhism that is for people to refrain from evil, do good through actions, speeches and thoughts and keep their mind calm. On the same occasion, the BMA and partners also organised relevant activities including Buddhism teachings. At Wat Benchamabophit, a huge number of white-clad people gathered to make merit. They gave alms to Buddhist monks at the temple. (TNA)
