Mexican illustrator celebrates last day of his stay in Tehran with artists

TEHRAN, June 29(MNA)-- Mexican illustrator Gabriel Pacheco met with several Iranian artists on the last day of his sojourn in Tehran during a luncheon ceremony on Thursday. Pacheco held workshops and an exhibition during his 10-day stay in Tehran, which was organized by Danne-ye Aab, a private Iranian illustration studio. “In such a gathering, I feel I am more of an artist than ever and I shall return to my country in high spirits,” Pacheco said during the ceremony, which was held at an office of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Illustrators Hoda Haddadi, Ali Buzari, Neda Azimi, Manuchehr Akbarlu, Seyyed Ali Kashefi and Narges Mohammadi (Hasmik) and Solmaz Joshaqani attended the event. The other artists were Actor Bijan Emkanian, Reza Banafshekhah and actresses Giti Moini and Marjaneh Golchin. Pacheco left Tehran for his country on Friday. He has a rather simple but haunting style. His artworks are often paired with quotes or excerpts from literature. The connection to storytelling in his illustrations seems to stem from his first work as a published artist, which were illustrations for a story written by his sister. Pacheco continued to explore his native talent and created a splendid portfolio of illustrations for children’s books, poetry volumes and fantasy literature.
