BANGKOK, April 15 (TNA) - The press center of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been ready for live broadcasts on oral testimomy by Thai and Cambodian legal teams over an unsettled territorial case concerning the Preah Vihear Temple along the common border of the two neighboring countries. The ministry's press center opened at 1pm on Monday to prepare for the live broadcasts, earlier announced to begin from 3pm, which cover oral statements in the case, in which Cambodia asked The Hague-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) to interpret its old ruling in 1962 on the ownership of the Preah Vihear Temple and a contentious area surrounding the ancient Hindu temple. Cambodia is scheduled to first deliver its oral statement at 3pm (Thailand's time) or 10am (The Hague's time which is five hours behind Thailand's time). Another round of the oral statement by Cambodia is set at 8pm (Thailand's time). The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has three translators to translate the statements in Thai and English for reporters at its press center. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is, meanwhile, in Chiang Mai, her hometown in the Thai North, with her family, saying that she will not give any interview to reporters on Monday but monitoring the live broadcasts of the oral statements.(TNA)
