MFA:No Thai casualties in London's terror attack

BANGKOK, March 23 (TNA) - Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai says that no Thai people were among casualties in a terror attack near the British Parliament in London on March 22. Speaking to journalists on Thursday on the sidelines of the TU-ASEAN Expo 2017, organized at Thammasat University in Bangkok during March 23-24, Don quoted the Thai Embassy in London as confirming that there were no Thai citizens killed or injured in the terror attack in London. According to the minister, normalcy has returned to London, after UK security officers have brought the situation under control. The Thai foreign minister, however, warned Thai people to be aware of any violent incident that could occur everywhere. "The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not issued any special statement, nor has it called for any detailed information from the UK Embassy in Bangkok. But the Thai Embassy in London has issued a statement, advising Thai nationals in the United Kingdom to closely follow up the updated situation and to be always on alert against any irregular incident", the minister told reporters. UK police claimed Wednesday's incident a terror attack, as a car crashed into pedestrians on the Westminster Bridge before striking barriers outside the UK Parliament, where a senior police officer was also stabbed dead. Five people have been confirmed dead in the incident so far, including an attacker, while about 40 others were injured. (TNA)
