MFA:No Thai casualties in Pakistan's suicide bombing

BANGKOK, March 28 (TNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that there have been no Thai casualties in a suicide bomb blast at a public park in Pakistan's eastern Lahore City on March 27, killing about 70 victims and injuring more than 200 others. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sek Wannamethee told journalists on Monday the Thai Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, has inspected the situation and reported the update that no Thai people died or were injured in the suicide bombing. The spokesman stated it was initially assumed that Sunday evening's suicide bomb attack targeted at Christians who had came out to celebrate Easter. According to the spokesman, there are about 250 Thai nationals in Lahore, some 150 of whom are students, about 50 others are labourers and the rest are housekeepers. Updated international media reports said that death toll from Lahore's suicide bomb blast has climbed to 72, while injuries have been slated over 200 so far. (TNA)
