MFA:No Thais have been affected by fatal explosion in Turkey

BANGKOK, January 13 (TNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that no Thai people have been killed or injured in a bomb blast in Turkey on January 12. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sek Wannamethee quoted the Thai Embassy in Ankara, Turkey's capital, as reporting the embassy is worried that Thai residents and tourists might be affected and has, thus, inquired the Thai Consulate-General in Istanbul, where Tuesday's explosion killed a large number of foreigners, and has been informed no Thai nationals were among the dead or injured victims. The spokesman stated on Wednesday that the Thai Embassy to Turkey has received reports from officials in the field and local police that no Thai people have been affected by the bomb attack. However, the spokesman told journalists, the Thai Embassy in Ankara will follow up the updated situation there closely and has not yet issued any warning. (TNA)
