MH370: Afghanistan Too Praises Malaysia's Efforts In Handling Search Mission

KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's efforts together with 25 other nations in handling the search operations for the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 continue to be praised. This time, the praise came from the president of the Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of the Constitution (ICOIC), Afghanistan, Gul Rahman Qazi when he made a courtesy call on the Senate President Abu Zahar Ujang at his office in Parliament House, here Wednesday. At the meeting which lasted almost one-and-a-half hours, Abu Zahar said Gul Rahman also expressed his sympathy to Malaysians and family members of the passengers and crew of the MAS flight MH370. He said Gul Rahman had told him that the people of Afghanistan were constantly following developments in the search operations for the aircraft. "He also prayed that all efforts to trace the aircraft will run smoothly and find a clearer lead," he told reporters here. Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew, left the KL International Airport at 12.41 am on March 8 and disappeared from radar screens about an hour later while over the South China Sea. It was to have landed in Beijing at 6.30 am on the same day. Several foreign leaders had earlier praised the Malaysian efforts to lead the search operations for the MAS aircraft, which was described as the biggest operation ever carried out. Gul Rahman, together with six other delegation members comprising ICOIC members and Afghanistan's legal experts, made the visit to get a deeper understanding and further information on the system of constitution practiced in this country. Abu Zahar said Gul Rahman was also excited to see Malaysia's rapid development besides praising the system of constitution practised in this country which was also practised by many other countries. The ICOIC is an entity of the Afghanistan government which is tasked to resolve the conflict according to the constitution, educate the people on the importance of the sovereignty of the law and ensuring that everyone operated within the framework of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. -- BERNAMA
