Mild quake hits Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI, Thailand, July 2 (TNA) - Another mild earthquake measuring at 1.0 on the Richter scale hit Chiang Mai province early Tuesday morning, after the northern Thai province was jolted by a 1.9-magnitude quake on Monday afternoon. According to the Mineral Resources Office, Region 1, in nearby Lampang province, the latest quake occurred at around 5am, with its epicenter located in the Mae Win locality of Chiang Mai's Mae Wang district, where the 1.9-magnitude tremor was also detected on Monday afternoon. There were, however, no reports on any casualty or damage from both the minor quakes, caused by the movements of the Mae Ping fault-line in the Thai North. (TNA)
