Mild quake hits Thai North

LAMPANG, THAILAND, May 21 (TNA) - A mild earthquake joited Thailand’s upper northern areas this early Tuesday morning, but there have been no reports on its impacts yet, in terms of any casualty or property damage. According to the Mineral Resources Office, Region 1 in Lampang province, the 1.3-magnitude earthquake occurred at 5:13am with its epicenter located in San Pa Tong district of nearby Chiang Mai province, following a latest quake in neighbouring Myanmar about two hours earlier. The regional mineral resources office, which supervises 17 northern Thai provinces, said the tremor was caused by the movement of Mae Ping fault-line in the Thai North. (TNA)
