Minister of Education Issues Decision to Form Advisory Committee for Government School Principals

Doha, March 31 (QNA) - HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi has issued a ministerial decision to form the Advisory Committee for Government School Principals of 13 members. The decision stipulates that members of the Committee choose, from among them, a chairman, a deputy chairman and a secretary, at their first meeting. The ministerial decision is based on the system of the Advisory Committee for School Principals and on the results of the electronic voting process to run for membership of the Advisory Committee of School Principals, and taking into account the requirements of the public interest. The Committee seeks to promote a culture of dialogue and consultation between school principles and enable them to express their concerns and suggestions, in order to promote team work spirit and advisory between the educational leaderships and increase their involvement in the development; exchange the different educational experiences to face the education problems and obstacles and propose practical solutions; strengthen the professional partnership with the decision makers at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in order to assess and reform the educational decisions, programs and plans; and contribute in developing the State's future educational plans. According to the ministerial decision, the Committee is concerned with preparing an annual plan and setting up mechanisms for its implementation by monitoring issues and challenges in the educational field, in order to provide appropriate solutions and recommendations to them in accordance with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The Committee is also concerned with providing advice to achieve visions and aspirations, offering initiatives to advance the educational process, following up and activating the electronic forum for school principals, and participating in educational meetings and events and social programs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in addition to other tasks assigned to it by the Minister. The decision stipulates that Aisha Eid Salman Al Sulaiti represents the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the Committees meetings as an observer without having a counted vote when voting. The observer shall exercise the functions set forth in the system of the Advisory Committee. Specialists from the Ministry's employees may be invited to attend the Committees meetings to discuss the issues raised and the educational challenges arise in order to reach appropriate solutions. The duration of Committee's membership is three years, and members are not entitled to run for more than two consecutive terms. (QNA)
